I grossly underestimated how many snakes and how much tulle I would actually need. That's what happens when you procrastinate your homemade costumes. I found a no-sew tutu tutorial on Youtube for Maura's tutu. I'm all about no-sew projects, or anything with the word "no" in it. We were going to go with the Maura as Gene Hackman Halloween idea because they have the same hairline, but I decided to give my daughter one less issue to hate me for when she's older.

Lizzy was very concerned with your last picture. "Baby - oh No! Mommy - oh No!"
Apparently she doesn't think that a baby is safe with a blue-faced snake-headed momma.
Very cute costumes.
♥ You crack me up! Love the costumes and Maura is so stinking cute!!! :)
Cute tutu!! She looks darling! Was it pretty easy to make? I'd like to make one for Caysja. And you look awesome too, Heather.
That is hilarious!!! I DO think she'll appreciate your futuristic thinking and letting her be a cute girl for her first Halloween. But hey, it's probably one of the last Halloween's where you'll be able to pick her costume for her. And the snakes--what a touch. What did Maura think of them???
I just noticed that you were reading Babywise. So, what do you think??? I read it and used the basic routine and my kid did great. Of course, you can't do the 'program' to a "T" but everyone I know that has used it has loved it. The only people I hear crap from haven't even read it.
great costumes! Maura is such a cutie!
